The Build
The grade change on this property meant the deck needed significant elevation to connect with the home's main level. Rather than treating the height as a problem to solve, we designed the staircase as a feature — a wide, deliberate descent with composite treads that matches the deck's dark-toned boards.
The elevated platform creates a vantage point that the homeowners didn't have before. From deck height, they look out over the yard and tree line rather than at it, which completely changes the feel of the outdoor space.
