The Build

The skirting detail on this project is what elevates it from a solid deck to a finished-looking structure. Composite panels wrap the entire understructure, concealing the framing, posts, and hardware that are typically visible from ground level. It's the difference between a deck and a piece of outdoor architecture.

The homeowners had been looking at their exposed deck substructure for years and wanted something that looked intentional from every angle — including when approaching the house from the yard. The composite skirting achieves that while also discouraging animals and debris from collecting underneath.
